AN ENTREPRENEUR whose business could make £250m in revenue in the next couple of years said he had to reach 'rock bottom' in order to achieve success.
George Heaton created popular streetwear brand Represent alongside his brother Mike after coming up with the concept as part of a college project back in 2011.
Since then, the brothers, originally from Horwich, Bolton, have seen their clothes worn by high-profile celebrities including Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber, The Weeknd and Machine Gun Kelly and are stocked in stores including Selfridges, END, Harrods and Harvey Nichols.
But George, 31, said it hasn't always been plain sailing for his business. Speaking to Steven Bartlett as part of his popular Diary of a CEO podcast, George said a low point in his life made him re-evaluate where he was with the business.
Before any celebrity endorsements, George said that he was told Represent was 'unprofitable' and that he was heading towards the brand shutting down. "I think the best view of heaven is from hell, right?" George told Dragon's Den star Steven in the podcast.
"You've got to get to the bottom of that mountain to start reclimbing it. I think if you just sit around in the middle of somewhere and life just is what it is, that's what I was going through.
