The accident occurred around 5:30 am on Annie Besant Road, a major thoroughfare in the city.
Police said the BMW involved in the incident was allegedly being driven by 24-year-old Mihir Shah, son of Rajesh Shah, a deputy leader of the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena in Maharashtra’s Palghar district.
The victim, identified as Kaveri Nakhwa, was travelling with her husband Pradip when the luxury car lost control and collided with their vehicle. Kaveri was thrown from the two-wheeler onto the road. Passersby alerted the authorities, and she was rushed to the nearby Nair Hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.
According to police officials, the couple, both fisherfolk, were returning to their home in Worli Koliwada after visiting... Sassoon Dock in Colaba.
