Irreversible realities?
The regional parties of J&K had long fought and argued for the retention of 'special status' of J&K, before they were wiped off from the political scene, abruptly, for a considerable period of time. The 2024 J&K elections, where the National Conference came back to power, triggered some hope for bringing back the 'lost' nature and character of the region. But the ongoing ruckus over the resolution seeking restoration of the 'special status' has cast a spell of doubt over the aspirations of J&K leaders and a section of the population.
