Now, all eyes on Nitish Kumar
Millennium Post Delhi|January 28, 2024
Amid ongoing political turmoil in Bihar, there is likelihood of Janata Dal (United) supremo and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar breaking away from “Mahagathbandhan” or grand alliance and tendering his resignation on Sunday and returning to the BJP-led NDA fold which he had quit in 2022.
Now, all eyes on Nitish Kumar

According to well-placed sources, there was a possibility of Nitish Kumar quitting on Sunday and paving the way for formation of the JD(U)-BJP government in Bihar where Assembly polls are scheduled to be held in 2025.

High stake political drama and behind the scene hectic parleys continued in Patna on Saturday with JD(U)’s ruling partner Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) of Lalu Prasad holding meetings of its leaders and MLAs to discuss strategy and possible scenarios in case of JD(U) leaving the coalition. Deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav is understood to be reviewing the rapidly evolving situation and keeping the RJD flock together. The perception is that RJD will not take it lying down and will put up a fight with all its resources.
