The legal proceedings moved swiftly as Arjun was produced before the Nampally court, which initially remanded him to 14-day judicial custody. However, the Telangana High Court, hearing a Lunch Motion moved by the actor's legal team, granted him four-week interim bail with a surety of Rs 50,000 and the condition that he cooperate with the investigation.

Senior Advocate S Niranjan Reddy, representing Arjun, argued that the mere occurrence of a death by stampede doesn't warrant criminal charges against a popular figure unless there is direct negligence or omission. The defense team also maintained that the theatre management had informed police beforehand about the actor's program and requested security and traffic management arrangements.
