માર્ગ પરિવહન અને હાઈવે ખાતાનો હવાલો સાંભળી રહેલા કેન્દ્રીય પ્રધાન નીતિન ગડકરીએ ગઈ કાલે પૂર્વ વડા પ્રધાન મનમોહનસિંહની આર્થિક સુધારા દ્વારા દેશને નવી દિશા આપવા બદલ આ માટે દેશ વખાણ કરતાં કહ્યું કે તેમનો ઋણી છે. TIOL એવોર્ડ ૨૦૨૨ સમારોહને સંબોધતાં ગડકરીએ કહ્યું કે વર્ષ ૧૯૯૧માં તત્કાલિન નાણાપ્રધાન મનમોહનસિંહ દ્વારા શરૂ કરાયેલા આર્થિક સુધારાએ ભારતને નવી દિશા બતાવી.&nbsp;તેમણે ટેક્સ ઇન્ડિયા ઓનલાઇન નામના પોર્ટલ દ્વારા આયોજિત એક કાર્યક્રમમાં કહ્યું કે ઉદાર અર્થવ્યવસ્થાના કારણે&nbsp;દેશને નવી દિશા મળી. તેના માટે દેશ મનમોહન સિંહનો ઋણી છે. ગડકરીના જણાવ્યા અનુસાર, NHAI નેશનલ હાઇવેની ટોલ આવક ૨૦૨૪ના અંત સુધીમાં વધીને રૂ. ૧.૪૦ લાખ કરોડ થશે, જે હાલમાં વાર્ષિક રૂ. ૪૦,૦૦૦ કરોડ છે.
ગડકરીએ એ મદદનો પણ ઉલ્લેખ કર્યો હતો કે મનમોહનની નીતિઓએ નેવુંના દાયકામાં મહારાષ્ટ્રના રસ્તાઓ માટે નાણાં એકત્ર કરવામાં મદદ કરી હતી. મનમોહનસિંહ દ્વારા શરૂ કરવામાં આવેલા આર્થિક સુધારાઓને કારણે તેઓ જ્યારે મહારાષ્ટ્રના પ્રધાન હતા ત્યારે આ રોડ પ્રોજેક્ટ્સ માટે ભંડોળ એકત્ર કરવામાં સક્ષમ હતા. ગડકરીએ ભારપૂર્વક જણાવ્યું હતું કે ભારતને એક ઉદાર આર્થિક નીતિની જરૂર છે જેનો ઉદ્દેશ્ય ગરીબોને પણ ફાયદો થાય. તેમણે કહ્યું કે ઉદાર આર્થિક નીતિ ખેડૂતો અને ગરીબો માટે છે. તેમણે ઉદાર આર્થિક નીતિ દ્વારા દેશના વિકાસમાં ચીનને એક સારું ઉદાહરણ ગણાવ્યું હતું. ભારતના સંદર્ભમાં ગડકરીએ કહ્યું કે દેશના આર્થિક વિકાસને વેગ આપવા માટે વધુ મૂડી રોકાણની જરૂર પડશે
આ જ કાર્યક્રમમાં મનમોહનસિંહ કહ્યું કે મીડિયાએ સતર્ક રહેવાની જરૂર છે અને તેણે શાસનની કાર્યક્ષમતામાં સુધારો કરવા માટે સરકારની ખામીઓને ઉજાગર કરવી જોઈએ.
