Dundee-based Snappy, which was founded in 2017, fulfilled more than 5.5 million orders last year from its network of over 1,800 merchants. Snappy and other "quick convenience" groups saw a boom during the pandemic but with life back to normal some are seeing declines in their business.
Snappy is backed by Highland Technology, Kelvin Capital, Scottish Enterprise and former Sainsbury's boss Justin King, who said: "Our plan is for another 50 percent growth this year. The key is to grow with your existing customers - we started with Dundee and are making our way south."
Unlike its rivals, Snappy does not operate a network&nbsp;of "dark stores". Instead, its system enables customers to order items from their local independent or franchised convenience store, which will package and deliver them.
Snappy founder and chief executive Mike Callachan said it is looking to expand its UK coverage and make its system available to retailers in overseas markets. "Our ambition in the year ahead is to continue to set new records," he added.
