As Queen recovers, King is full of life and laughter at variety show

THE KING was "full of life" as he attended the Royal Variety Performance alone, after the Queen was forced to pull out as she recovers from a nasty chest infection.
Charles, 76, laughed throughout the show on Friday night at the Royal Albert Hall, as he watched from the royal box.
It was the King's first time watching as a patron of the Royal Variety Charity, having taken on the role after the conclusion of a formal review earlier this year.
As His Majesty entered the London venue, the audience stood up to applaud while the national anthem was sung by American singer Marisha Wallace.
Camilla, 76, pulled out on Friday afternoon, having been advised to rest by doctors due to lingering symptoms.
Show hosts Alan Carr and Amanda Holden sent their best wishes to the Queen - and were delighted to find out that the monarch laughed at their jokes.
Amanda, 53, said: "His Majesty was amazingly charming, he said we definitely earned our pound that we got paid.
