The Duke of York has found himself under renewed scrutiny after this month’s release of court papers relating to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, in which his name appears more than 100 times.
The Prince, who has always vehemently denied any wrongdoing, now faces further embarrassment as at least two US lawyers demand that the FBI makes public a “mountain of further evidence” seized from Epstein’s mansions and private island.
Yesterday Prince Andrew was pictured hosting a shooting party in Windsor, despite friends reportedly suggesting the release of the Epstein documents had made him “lock himself away in a room”. He was accompanied by around a dozen guests.
But today’s WeThink poll of more than 1,000 adults shows little public sympathy left for the former playboy Prince, with 69 per cent believing he should not be in line for the throne.
