SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER has gone from a Green Jacket to an orange jumpsuit in recent months.
And his astonishing season on and off the golf course could still end up with him wearing an official R&A tie come tonight.
No one would be surprised if Scheffler lifted his first Claret Jug on the west coast of Scotland.
Because Scheffler winning golf tournaments has become as predictable as the Scottish weather.
While unknown Dan Brown was reluctant to budge from the top of the leaderboard, Scheffler lurked menacingly in his slipstream.
And the American is the last person Brown wants to see looming in his rearview mirror.
Some people reckon Scheffler is the closest thing golf has to Tiger Woods these days.
Like Woods did in his prime, Scheffler is making some of his own history.
He has six wins to his name in 2024, including the Masters and The Players Championship.
He also won the Travelers Championship in his last start before this Open.
All six of his wins have come in his past 10 starts, and he's also had two second place finishes in this span as well.
And even the omens are on his side.
