The punt for red October! But record temperatures will attract jellyfish...

But as forecasters predict this month will be a Red October, it comes with a warning for those dipping their toes in the sea.

People took a punt on soaking up the sun on the River Cam in Cambridge yesterday - and temperatures are predicted to hit 24C in the South-East today.

That's around six degrees higher than average, making it hotter than Palermo, Sicily, where just 23C is expected.
