In an interesting chat with Lovejeet Alexander he spilled a few beans on his plans for the future. Read the excerpts.
Q. You’ve been away from the limelight for some but now back in the news with your book in hand. Are we meeting ‘Arindam 2.0’ today?
A. In a sense, yes. If we reflect on the early years of Edupreneurial journey, it was a different world back then. Our growth occurred during a time of significant change. Post that, the entire education sector began evolving. We introduced privatization into the Indian education system, soon after the industry underwent a massive transformation.
Q. Your perspective on the education system is intriguing. Many of the best learning centers are private. Can you elaborate?
A. I have consistently advocated for free education in all my books and public lectures. I firmly believe that if I were to become Prime Minister, I would eliminate all private institutions. Education is transformative, and it should be free. However, in a country where the government fails to do so and privatization is the buzz word, the focus should be on improving quality rather than questioning privatization itself.
