Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi recently concluded a four-day official visit to Indonesia, from December 15 to December 18, aimed at strengthening bilateral defense ties with a particular focus on enhancing naval cooperation. This visit underscored the deepening relationship between India and Indonesia, aligning with the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership established by the two nations.
During his visit, Admiral Tripathi met with General Agus Subiyanto, Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces, in Jakarta. Discussions during the meeting revolved around consolidating and expanding existing defense cooperation. Key areas of focus included enhancing information sharing, capacity building, collaboration in the defense industry, and exploring new opportunities for operational interactions and cooperation. These discussions were aimed at bolstering the bilateral defense partnership, particularly in the maritime domain, which is of strategic importance to both nations.
