Indian stock markets began the new week on a negative note on Monday, with both major indices experiencing declines during the opening trade.

The NSE Nifty 50 index fell by 30 points, settling at 24,300, while the BSE Sensex dropped by 150 points, reaching 79,841. Despite this, most other indices on the National Stock Exchange started trading with gains, except for the Nifty 50.
