The initiative includes the acquisition of 40 vans and 150 all-terrain vehicles, which will be deployed with volunteer firefighting teams to combat the increasing threat of wildfires.
According to the Israel Nature and Parks Authority, nearly 15,000 acres of land in the Upper Galilee and Golan Heights have been scorched by wildfires triggered by Hezbollah rocket barrages in 2024. The authority noted that 75 percent of this damage occurred during the first two weeks of June alone. The wildfires have been devastating, prompting urgent measures to strengthen firefighting capabilities in the affected regions.
