According to police reports, Parida was wanted under sections 20/25/29 of the NDPS Act and section 174A of the IPC at the Pandav Nagar Police Station in New Delhi. He had been declared an absconder by the ASJ-02 Special Judge (NDPS) at KKD Courts on February 25, 2022.
Police received confidential information about Parida's whereabouts in Ganjam district, where he frequently changed locations to evade arrest. After verifying the information with local authorities and the court, a team was dispatched to Odisha.
Following intensive surveillance and diligent fieldwork, the team successfully apprehended Parida. The arrest was made possible through the efforts of HC Sandeep Kumar.
During interrogation, Parida confessed to supplying narcotics to drug peddlers across several states, including Delhi, for many years. He had been on the run since the FIR was filed against him three years ago and had deliberately evaded arrest by constantly changing his residence. Parida disclosed that whenever his clients were arrested, he relocated to different places in Odisha to avoid detection.
