The Business Guardian|November 27, 2023
The RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group's Nature's Basket is set to elevate the landscape of luxury food retailing in India with the launch of large-format artisanal experiential stores, drawing inspiration from the iconic Harrods Food Hall in London.
Nature's Basket adds luxury food retailing to its cart

This strategic move into the realm of luxury grocery marks a significant expansion for Nature's Basket, positioning itself as a destination for gourmet indulgence and premium culinary experiences.

The maiden store, spanning an impressive 12,500 square feet, is poised to open its doors at the Phoenix Palladium mall in Mumbai. Shashwat Goenka, Chairman of Spencer's Retail, the parent company of Nature's Basket, emphasized the brand's evolution into luxury grocery, characterized by an immersive and experiential approach. Drawing parallels with the Harrods Food Hall concept, Goenka envisions redefining gourmet luxury not only for high-end consumers but also for the broader aspirational audience.

Nature's Basket Artisan Pantry, the new brand under the Nature's Basket umbrella, introduces a transformative concept, boasting stores ranging from 7,000 to 12,500 square feet. This is a substantial expansion compared to the existing 2,000-2,500 square feet Nature's Basket stores. The differentiation lies in the premium positioning of Nature's Basket and the luxury positioning of Nature's Basket Artisan Pantry.
