PM Modi to the nation Today marks the conclusion of the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections, a celebration of democracy in our nation, often called the Mother of Democracy. As I board a plane to Delhi after a three-day spiritual journey in Kanniyakumari, my mind brims with experiences and emotions, and I feel a surge of energy within. These elections are the first of the 'amrit kaal', a period marking a new dawn for our nation. My campaign began months ago in Meerut, a city symbolic of the First War of Independence in 1857. From there, my journey spanned the entire nation, culminating in my final rally in Hoshiarpur, Punjab, a land rich in the legacy of the great Gurus and Sant Ravidas Ji. I then travelled to Kanniyakumari, the southernmost tip of India, revered as the feet of Maa Bharti.
The fervour of the elections echoed in my heart and mind. I recalled the countless faces seen in rallies and roadshows, the blessings from our nari shakti (women power), and the overwhelming trust and affection from the people. These moments were profoundly humbling, bringing me to the brink of tears. I entered a state of 'sadhana' (meditation), where the political debates and accusations of the election campaign faded into the background. A sense of detachment enveloped me, allowing my mind to disconnect from the external world.
