The Supreme Court in the case Delhi Development Authority vs Damini Wadhwa observed and has reiterated that a subsequent purchaser has no right to claim lapse of acquisition proceedings.
SUPREME COURT: SUBSEQUENT PURCHASER HAS NO RIGHT TO CLAIM LAPSE OF LAND ACQUISITION PROCEEDINGS UNDER SECTION 24 RFCTLARR

In the present case, on November 25, 1980, the land in question was notified to be acquired under Section 4 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 and on July 06, 1985, the declaration under Section 6 was issued and on 17.06.1987, an award came to be declared by the Collector.

Thus, the writ petitioner before the High Court claimed the title, interest or right in the lands in question on the basis of the Agreement to Sell dated 22.05.2016 and challenged the acquisition. The High Court allowed the said writ petition.
