The Yogi Adityanathled government in Uttar Pradesh has taken an initiative to distribute fortified rice to 15.05 crore beneficiaries covered under the National Food Security Act
UP govt Launches fortified Rice scheme

To ensure the effective distribution of fortified rice, the government has decided to allot paddy only to rice mills in the state that have blenders installed. Fortified rice is enriched with essential nutrients that are typically lost during the milling and processing of normal rice. By retaining these nutrients, fortified rice can help address various health-related issues, including anemia.
