Two weeks ago, Reviving the West Rand (RWR) organised an event to talk about the role of maths. The event was held at the Gauteng Archives in Kagiso.

Dr Nico Molefe, a mathematics teacher by profession and cofounder of RWR, was the programme director. The keynote speaker was the best-selling author and columnist Mzi Kuzwayo. He related the story of Chief Mogale Mogale, whom Mogale City was named after.
