Reality check as EFF goes to its people's powwow
The Citizen|December 12, 2024
The EFF will be forced to face reality at its conference as 90% of the electorate were not convinced by the party in this year's general elections.
Carien Grobler

"The EFF should not be trapped in over-celebration of the otherwise impactful victories we have achieved in the first 11 years. The stark reality is that a staggering 90.48% of South Africa's electorate does not as yet believe in the capacity of the EFF to lead."

The EFF stated this in a policy discussion document called Organisational Character and Redesign, one of the policy concerns that will be discussed at its third National People's Assembly at Nasrec in Joburg from today to Sunday.

Leader Julius Malema said in October the assembly's goals included leadership elections, constitutional amendments and the adoption of a new five-year action plan.
