Turn focus on greatest polluters

With reference to "Global warming is just man-made" (The Citizen, 19 November), especially for those people most aware of and worried by it – notably, the world's young people – man-made global warming and its resultant increasing number and intensity of climate-change-induced extreme weather events rightfully stir up alarm.

Meanwhile, carbon taxes in nations like Canada manage to induce shrill complaints, including by the corporate news media – even though the tax is more than recouped, except for high-income earners – via federal government rebate in that fossil-fuel exporting country.

Many drivers of huge and overpowered and petrol-guzzling vehicles seem to consider it a basic human right.
