The seventh and final phase of the iconic R4 billion Pearls of Umhlanga mixed-use development is reaching completion – 15 years after the initial phases of the luxury apartment towers project backed by SA movie mogul Anant Singh were completed.
Around R200 million is being pumped into the final phase called Pearls Shore, and Joburg-based group The Capital Hotels Apartments & Resorts is taking up all 66 apartments to expand its busy hotel operations at the landmark property north of Durban.
At eight floors, the new apartment block on the northern end of the property is much smaller than the Pearl Sky (37 floors) and Pearl Dawn (31 floors) tower phases, but Singh said it "represents the culmination of one of the largest overall property developments in SA".
