Zuma's vote rigging claims are 'bid to save face' - expert

If uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) party leader Jacob Zuma had evidence of vote rigging in the May general elections, he would have produced it by now.

This is the view of Professor of politics from the University of South Africa, Dirk Kotzé, who questioned the existence of the evidence Zuma claims to have.

At a party rally in Vosloorus at the weekend, Zuma said he had strong evidence that some officials had stolen votes from the MK party and diverted them to other parties.

He said he would again approach the courts to declare the election results invalid.

However, Kotzé said yesterday that he believed there was no such evidence and that Zuma was playing politics.
