The expulsion came after Nagar filed his nomination as an independent candidate from the Tigaon assembly constituency in Faridabad district, directly challenging the party's official candidate, Rohit Nagar.
Lalit Nagar, who had represented the Tigaon constituency in 2014, was dissatisfied with the party's decision on ticket distribution. Expressing his displeasure over party's surprise pick Rohit Nagar had held a meeting with his supporters and chose to enter the fray independently, a move that the party viewed as a significant breach of discipline.
