SC permits ex-Jharkhand CM Madhu Koda to withdraw plea challenging his 3-year disqualification by ECI in 2017

The Supreme Court in the case Madhu Koda Versus Election Commission Of India observed and has allowed the former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda to withdraw the petition filed challenging his 3-year disqualification by the Election Commission of India in 2017.

The bench comprising of Justice Surya Kant and Justice Ujjal Bhuyan was hearing the present matter. The counsel appearing for Koda submitted before the court that the matter has become infructuous as the 3-year period has lapsed.
Koda, an independent MLA, served as Jharkhand Chief Minister from 2006 to 2008.
