The 2025 Guide to Fertility: A Holistic Approach for Couples
The Daily Guardian|January 04, 2025
As we step into 2025, couples seeking to embrace parenthood have more opportunities than ever to embark on their fertility journey with confidence and hope.
The 2025 Guide to Fertility: A Holistic Approach for Couples

Dr. Shobha Gupta, Medical Director and renowned IVF specialist from Mother's Lap IVF Centre in New Delhi and Vrindavan emphasizes that the path to parenthood begins with a proactive and holistic approach, addressing physical, emotional, and lifestyle factors for both men and women.

OPTIMIZING HEALTH THROUGH DIET
Nutrition plays a pivotal role in enhancing fertility. A well-balanced diet can improve reproductive health by supporting hormonal balance and improving overall well-being. Dr. Shobha Gupta recommends the following dietary guidelines for couples:

For Women: Include foods rich in folic acid, iron, and omega-3 fatty acids. Leafy greens, citrus fruits, nuts, and seeds are essential. Incorporate whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats like avocados. Avoid excessive caffeine and alcohol, which can negatively affect ovulation.

For Men: Focus on foods high in zinc, selenium, and antioxidants to enhance sperm health. Walnuts, pumpkin seeds, tomatoes, and eggs are beneficial. Reducing processed foods and incorporating a Mediterranean-style diet can significantly improve sperm quality.
