ASTOUNDING | Income Tax Department had seized gold bars worth Rs 42 crore

The property of former RTO constable and his associates is reaching Rs 100 crore. The properties came to light after raids and searches of Lokayukta SPE Bhopal, Income Tax (I-T) department and Enforcement Directorate (ED).

The ED has found documents related to assets worth about Rs 33 crore after it conducted searches against RTO constable and his associates as part of money laundering probe linked to a disproportionate assets case, on December 27.

Around eight premises in state capital Bhopal, Gwalior and Jabalpur were raided by federal probe agency. In the case against Saurabh Sharma, his associate Chetan Singh Gaur and some others including Sharad Jaiswal and Rohit Tiwari. Lokayukta police have seized cash and jewellery worth Rs 7.98 crore.
