Finally, the 40-year-old 377 tons of hazardous toxic waste from the defunct Union Carbide factory shifted to a disposal site about 250 km away on Wednesday, said officials.
The site chosen for this purpose is Pithampur industrial area in Dhar district located 30 kilometers from Indore.
As many as 12 container trucks carrying the waste set off for the journey by Wednesday midnight, sources said. A green corridor will be created along the route for a smooth journey.
