A 30-year-old undertrial rape accused, an inmate of central jail, who was admitted to MY Hospital for treatment, was found dead in the bathroom of the hospital's inmate ward on Thursday morning after he strangulated himself with an oxygen pipe.
According to the police, the deceased, identified as Mahendra, was a resident of Rajasthan's Pali district. Mahendra was suffering from a hernia and had been admitted to MY Hospital a week earlier for treatment. Initially placed in the trauma centre, he was later shifted to the inmate ward after showing signs of recovery. On Wednesday evening, he had dinner and interacted with others.
