CHAOTIC SCENES| Accusations and counter-accusations fly thick and fast
Our Staff Reporter

Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) council meeting erupted in a series of chaotic exchanges with BJP and Congress corporators clashing over issues related to the legacy of Dr BR Ambedkar, illegal posters and development proposals.

The session saw sharp exchanges, accusations and counter-accusations after Leader of Opposition Chintu Choukse alleged that Union Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah insulted Ambedkar.

The chaotic scenes began when BJP corporators Mahesh Baswal, Kanchan Gidwani, Niranjan Chauhan and Jeetu Yadav waved posters of Congress leader Patwari, accusing the Congress of misrepresenting Ambedkar's legacy. The BJP leaders claimed that the Congress had failed to properly promote the ideals of Ambedkar.

In response, Congress corporators demanded an apology from their BJP counterparts. Speaker Munnalal Yadav and mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav tried to calm the situation but the debate quickly spiralled out of control.
