<p>Asking the officials to study various experiments globally, the Chief Minister directed the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) to commence 23 km Metro service this year.</p><p>Reviewing the Metro projects undertaken by the authority in a meeting at the Sahyadri State Guest House at Malabar Hill, Fadnavis told officials to work on temporary measures if car sheds were not ready. His message comes in the backdrop of some projects being stuck for want of space for the car sheds. This year 23 km of Metro service is going to be operational and another 20 to 25 km services of Metro-3 are to be introduced, Fadnavis said. He also asked officials to work out a plan for the land requirement for the car sheds and reserve it accordingly. The Chief Minister said every year at least 50 km of Metro services should be actioned.</p>
