Seven members of a family, including three children, were killed when a blaze engulfed a shop and the adjoining residential space early on Sunday, in Siddharth Colony, Chembur.
The Level 1 fire was reported around 5.20am in a building located on Plot No. 16/1 on K N Gaikwad Marg, according to the Mumbai Fire Brigade.
The victims, who were brought to Rajawadi Hospital, were all declared dead on arrival. The deceased included three children: Presi Prem Gupta, 6, Narendra Gupta, 10, and Vidhi Chediram Gupta, 15.
