Nine passengers were killed and 20 others injured as the bus in which they were travelling rammed in a stranded dumper in Maihar district on late Saturday evening, said police on Sunday. CM extends financial help to kin of deceased.
Seven of the deceased hailed from neighbouring Uttar Pradesh, police said. Maihar superintendent of police (SP) Sudhir Agrawal said that the accident occurred on National Highway 30, about 25 km from the district headquarters.
He said that the bus started from Prayagraj with around 45 passengers and was heading for Nagpur via Rewa when it crashed into a stationary stone-laden truck near Nadan Dehat police station.
