Actor Mammootty toes Mohanlal line

A day after senior Malayalam actor Mohanlal broke his silence over the explosive Justice Hema Committee report, it was the turn of colleague Mammootty to toe a similar line.

Unlike Mohanlal, Mammootty did not face the press or cameras; instead, in a Facebook post on Sunday, he categorically denied the existence of any power group in Mollywood. Welcoming the Hema Committee report, he said it is for the courts to try and punish those found guilty.

Cinema is not the kind of field in which power groups can exist or function, he said, adding "ultimately, the film industry must survive" - a line maintained by AMMA president Mohanlal.

"Cinema is a cross-section of society. All of society's good and bad are present in cinema too.
