Statewide, the numbers are equally concerning. From January to September, 1,19,220 individuals sustained injuries due to road accidents, averaging 436 cases daily. The frequency of such incidents suggests an urgent need for effective measures to curb road mishaps and enhance safety protocols. The situation intensified during the festive period of Navratri, with Gujarat experiencing an 18% spike in accident cases. In Ahmedabad alone, 8,437 emergency cases were logged over the nine-day festival. While most were related to road accidents, the period also saw an increase in health emergencies, including abdominal pain, breathing issues, high fever, cardiac arrests, and strokes.
