Badlapur stir political: CM

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has alleged that the protest to condemn the sexual assault on two four-year-old preschoolers in Badlapur was politically motivated, and that some agitators were brought from outside for rail roko. He condemned the politicising of the matter.

In a post on X, Shinde said, "The sexual assault incident in Badlapur is reprehensible and a condemnable act. The accused has been arrested and action has also been taken against the school management. The government has also suspended the police officers who delayed registering the case. An SIT has been constituted to investigate the matter and a trial will be run in fast-track court." He further reminded that in a similar incident, an SIT was constituted two months ago. The accused was arrested and the case was fast-tracked, with justice being delivered in two months and the accused was sentenced to death.
