Dr Pavan Yadav, Lead Consultant - Interventional Pulmonology & Lung Transplantation at Aster RV Hospital, highlights, "In winter, levels of air pollutants are higher in Bengaluru due to temperature inversion, which traps pollutants near the ground. This exacerbates asthma and chronic lung conditions like COPD. Gradual symptoms, such as coughing, wheezing and throat irritation, may develop due to fine particulate matter (PM2.5)."
