Locals living around the Banganga tank are up in arms against the BMC after a contractor damaged the heritage steps of the 1,100-year-old site. On Monday, the contractor hired to clean the tank as part of the revitalization project used a JCB machine to level the steps. The civic body claimed to have fixed the damage in a day, however, experts remain sceptical about the work quality.
