In July, High Court instructed the BMC commissioner to determine whether realignment was technically possible

The BMC has rejected Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's directive to realign the proposed 120ft DP road from Magathane to Goregaon, stating that realignment is technically unfeasible. The BMC chief issued this direction on Tuesday while addressing a petition from citizens, noting that most of the road has already been constructed.

The CM had directed the BMC to realign the road following a request from Magathane MLA Prakash Surve. However, Kandivali residents Shishir Vivekanand Shetty and five others challenged this directive before the Bombay High Court through a public interest litigation (PIL).
