Economic stress: Cong cites '5 undeniable facts'
The Free Press Journal|November 05, 2024
In a message to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge charged that "BJP's anti-people policies are corroding India's economy" and he exhorted the PM to "speak about the real issues facing common people" in his election rallies "instead of spewing lies against the Opposition".

Economic stress: Cong cites '5 undeniable facts'

Taking to social media platform "X", Kharge claimed that "fake narratives cannot be a substitute for real welfare." He urged Modi to take a look at the "economic turmoil" and charged that it has been created by the ruling dispensation "by looting ordinary citizens of their last paisa!"

Kharge then said even the festive cheer was unable to lift the economy that has been "reeling under low consumption, high inflation, widening inequality, dampened investment and wage stagnation." He said even industry captains are talking about "missing middle class syndrome" even as a body blow has been dealt to the poor and middle class through back-breaking price rise and "mindless taxation" that has wiped out their savings.
