First brick for Ayodhya mosque

Mumbai will send the first brick for the construction of the mosque on land given in place of the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya in February 2024. As preparations gather steam for the inauguration of the Ram temple at Ayodhya next month, the group in charge of building the mosque said that Pirs, or holy men, will carry bricks from all over the country to the mosque's construction site in Dhannipur village outside Ayodhya. The group has announced that the new mosque will be called Masjid Muhammad Bin Abdullah after the prophet. A descendant of Sufi saint Sarkar Peer Adil, whose tomb is in Bijapur (Vijayapura), Karnataka, is expected to carry the first bricks from Mumbai for the foundation of the mosque.
