Govt stitches up school dress policy after drawing criticism

The experts in the education sector have welcomed the state government's move to revise its implementation of the 'One State, One Uniform' policy by doing away with the centralised approach.

Decentralising the system for stitching and distributing school uniforms will enable dress supply to schools in a timely manner, improve the quality and bring down the cost, the experts said.

Following widespread criticism of the manner in which the scheme was implemented last year, the government issued a government resolution (GR) on Friday, revising the policy's implementation.
