The current and future of mining equipment is expected to include the below developments. However, lot more AI-based and electric/robotic based equipment will be seen soon, beside these developments in coming future.

Eco-friendly solutions: Electric and hybrid vehicles, solar-powered drills, and equipment with reduced emissions are becoming more common.

Digitalization: Digital mining technologies will help increase productivity, reliability, and reduce costs.

Automation: Automation and teleoperation systems can monitor machines, control operations, and enhance safety and productivity.

Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) sensors: These sensors can measure, record, and transmit data from mining assets to management systems.

Real-Time Location Systems (RTLS): These systems can improve the efficiency of autonomous vehicles and drones by enhancing navigation precision and minimizing the risk of collisions.

Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI: These technologies can synthesize large amounts of data to generate insights and predictive models.

Some other examples of future mining equipment include:

Drilling robots: These robots can drill holes for blasting or exploration in areas that are too dangerous or difficult for humans to reach.
