The proposal to divert Harbour Line over P D'Mello Road has finally been rejected after several meetings with state authorities, according to a recent affidavit submitted to the Bombay High Court by the Central Railway.
The affidavit stated that the proposal was not approved, leaving the railways with no option but to pursue the original alignment, which will require demolition of 11 private buildings along with the heritage structure of Byculla Railway Station.
