Chilling details have emerged regarding the treatment of inmates in Bangladesh's secret jail or 'Aynaghor,' during the tenure of the now ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, according to a report by the New York Times.

Human rights organizations state that over 700 people were forcefully abducted since 2009 for criticizing Hasina and her policies, the report states. 450 were eventually released, while around 80 were killed and their bodies were delivered to their families. About 150 still remain unaccounted for.
