Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday claimed that he has tried to work within his jurisdictional limits as defined by the Constitution and that he has not tried to encroach in the space of the other wings of governance.
He was speaking at an event organised at the Supreme Court to celebrate 75 years of adoption of the Constitution of India. Addressing the event, in which a large number of judges and lawyers were present, Modi said: "Samvidan ne mujhe jo kaam diya hai, maine usi maryada mein rehne ka prayas kiya hai. Maine koi encroachment ki koshish nahin ki... (The Constitution accorded some work to me and I have tried to do the needful while staying within my defined limits. I have not attempted any encroachment)."
