A consumer forum has held Aditya Birla Health Insurance guilty of wrongly repudiating a legitimate medical bill claim of a Kandivali-based policy holder, who made timely premium payments.
The forum has directed the insurer to release the bill amount of Rs3,17,286 along with 9% interest from March 2023. Additionally, the complainant was awarded Rs1.20 lakh for mental agony and litigation charges. The company was also instructed to restore the policy by collecting the legitimate premium within 45 days of the order, ensuring the cover continues with all benefits.
