Jaish chief Masood Azhar surfaces after two decades

Fugitive jihad commander Masood Azhar, leader of the proscribed terrorist group Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM), has delivered his first public speech in over two decades, according to a JeM-affiliated online forum.

The speech, linked to the centennial of the Turkish caliphate's dissolution in 1924, called for renewed jihad against India and Israel and the establishment of a global Islamic order.

While JeM did not disclose the date or location of the address, Indian intelligence sources suggest it likely occurred late last month at the Umm-ul-Qura seminary near Bahawalpur, Pakistan.
